Since 1996,
I have been working
as an independent producer/director,
director of photography
with broadcast and
corporate projects
in Texas and Mexico.
In 2003, I co-produced
and directed the HD
documentary for PBS,
"Texas: the State
of Water", which
won a regional Emmy.
Also during 2003 I
was cameraman for numerous
cable and broadcast
"reality tv"
shows, including "The
Bachelor" (ABC),
"Ambush Makeover"
(FOX), the Wedding
Story, "Perfect
Proposal" (both
TLC) and "behind
the scenes" footage
for Miramax, "Spy
Kids 3D". During
2001-2002 I was director
of photography for
the national PBS documentaries,
"The Forgotten
Americans" and
"Accordion Dreams"
(Galan, Inc.). Presently,
I am editing two long-form
documentaries shot
in Mexico, "Burn
Judas Burn!" and
"Vanilla: the
Ancient Flavor",
and in production on
"Found Artists",
a doc about southern
outsider artists.

SENIOR TELEVISION PRODUCER
As senior producer I was responsible for generating segments for the award
winning Texas Parks & Wildlife Television Series, a weekly documentary
program broadcast on PBS stations throughout Texas and the Southeast.
I originated segment concepts and carried out all research, script writing,
shooting and editing. Traveling across the state, I managed all production
schedules and supervised the field crews. Much of my work focused on the
rich cultural heritage of Texas, primarily the Texas/Mexico border region.
I also became an experienced underwater videographer, shooting on and
under the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

CO-OWNER / DIRECTOR
Communications ALTATEC was one of the first independent corporate production
companies in Austin. As partner, I shared in the marketing of our services
and was solely responsible for the aesthetic and technical quality of
all the programs we produced. My company completed over fifty sponsored
projects for a wide variety of clients in the fields of health, environment,
product promotion, entertainment and education. Clients included American
Express, Readers' Digest, National Geographic, Texas Association of Private
Industry Councils, Scott & White Hospital, Texas Department on Aging
and numerous advertising agencies including GSD&M. I prepared proposals,
bids and budgets, managed office and field personnel as well as all outside
contractors, such as graphic artists, script writers and editors.

FLORIDA STATE MUSEUM / NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
GUTIERREZ ZAMORA, VERACRUZ, MEXICO
PROJECT PHOTOGRAPHER / DRAFTSMAN
During this ongoing archaeological project in rural Veracruz, I was involved
in both archaeological and ethnographic studies of the region. My duties
included the photographing and cataloging of thousands of artifacts found
during the excavations, as well as mapping and recording trenches and
ancient structures. During this period I lived in the coastal Veracruz
town of Gutierrez Zamora for up to six months out of the year. Before
this, I worked with a community development project on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
Funded by the Catholic Relief Organization, I worked directly with U.S.
engineers and local indigenous groups on a regional effort to design and
construct a series of potable water systems.
